Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Jobboard Finder’s opinion Summary: CareerBuilder was founded by Robert J. McGovern in 1995 as NetStart Inc. It sold software to companies so that they could list job offers. Now, it is a well-known job board present in many different countries. In the US, it attracts a steady 14.39 million visits per month. On social media, the site has 83 909 followers on LinkedIn, 383 638 on Facebook, 24 708 on YouTube and 205 000 on Twitter. The familiar logo and design create brand unity across borders, attracting both jobseekers and recruiters. Design: Unlike the other CareerBuilder sites, the US version has a slightly larger backdrop banner and more modern search engine (keywords and location) next to a resume upload section. The site suggests companies (which are hiring) and explains how CareerBuilder can help with recruitment. Once in the job listing, the offers can be sorted by relevance, location, company, title or date. The UX design is top notch, making for an elegant page for the job listing. There are logos, publication dates and the salary visible before even opening the offers. Companies can hide their names though. You can also refine the search with filters (date posted, job type, category, company annual pay, CareerBuilder apply only). There are lots of resources for recruiters and jobseekers concerning the labour market and company news. The job board objective: Thanks to a global presence, CareerBuilder helps recruiters find candidates all over the world. Recruiter observations: If you already have an account on a CareerBuilder website, you cannot create a new one. Otherwise, it’s easy to create an account. You can purchase job offers and access to the CV database online. Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account. If you are redirected, the site asks for your e-mail address. The job offers: There are currently thousands jobs online (even if the site displays a smaller number). All of the categories have thousands of job offers. Reactivity: The team answers very quickly. Special features: The timeline (in the “About us” section); the cute error page; the talent network (which is a list of companies with logos, categorised by industry. However, the pages are unavailable); the career advice (blog); the app; the YouTube videos; the job post calculator (for the price); the plan price comparator; resources; client success stories; company news; webinars; the key figures. Verdict: In the US, CareerBuilder has a strong presence and an attractive design. The special features are a real bonus when it comes to understanding the job market.
