Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Jobboard Finder’s opinion Summary: Created in 2001 by Manuel Francisci, who is the current president of the site, Jobwings is a specialist job board for Finance, Accounting and Management jobs. It is a part of a larger group: Jobs.ca, which has 21 sites in total. For Jobwings, there are 419 followers on Twitter and 867 on LinkedIn. There is an “About Us” section about everything the site has to offer. Design: From the moment you enter the site, you’re in the thick of things, with a search engine (keywords and location) stretched out across the screen, below a green banner with “Jobwings” written on it. The filters (category, location, employer) are on the left-hand side. The offers can be sorted by relevance and date. There are publication dates and logos in the listing, but some don’t actually show up. When you open a job offer, the layout is standardised. You can browse the companies (by clicking on a letter), which appear in a list displaying the number of current job offers. The pages display contact information, a description (sometimes) and a link to the site. The job board objective: By focusing on specific sectors, the job boards from Jobs.ca can offer customised service for their jobseekers and recruiters. Recruiter observations: The “post an offer” section was down when we tested the site. Jobseeker observations: You don’t need an account because you are redirected for the job offers. The job offers: There are currently 94 jobs in French and 360 in English. Reactivity: -- Special features: News; courses; the salary section (which is empty); nominations; resources (which includes a list of useful websites); the partner websites for different job sectors; Verdict: If you know which industry you want to work in, then by all means, go through a site from Jobs.ca. It’s a shame the social media don’t work well and that the “post an offer” page was down.
