Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Jobboard Finder’s opinion Summary: Created in 2007, WorkinDenmark is a governmental website, which is clear from the partner websites in the footer. One of the websites it works with closely is JobNet. In fact, you need to have an account on JobNet to recruit on WorkinDenmark. As for the visibility, the job board receives 181 150 hits a month. It is slowly but surely on the rise. A mere 26% of those views actually come from Denmark though. Clearly, this isn’t the website the natives are using, which makes sense since the focus audience is foreigners, who want to work for Danish companies. Oddly enough, the website content only takes up a little over half the screen. In social media, there are 4 433 Facebook followers and 2 838 on Linkedin. If you are after information on the Danish labour market, WorkinDenmark definitely has a wide range of sections on the matter. Design: The fact that the homepage only takes up half the screen makes the website appear outdated. You can use the search engine (keywords) for the job database or the CV database (if you are logged in). Once in the job listing, users have filters (the location, the job type, the sector) to cull the job offers. In the job listing, the job location is shown on a map and you can sort the vacancies by date or relevance. There is no particular branding even if the logo is visible in the job listing (as well as the number of weekly hours and the type of position). The website has information on moving, living and working in Denmark. This includes information covering all kinds of topics (from daycare to opening a bank account to transportation). The job board objective: The focus of this job board really is the foreigner looking for work in Denmark. WorkinDenmark hopes to put foreign jobseekers on the right track for a job. It even retrieves other international offers so that they are all in one place. Recruiter observations: To use WorkinDenmark, recruiters need to be registered on JobNet. A Central Business Reg. number and P number are required. On JobNet, NemID is required, which is an identification number used for internet banking, government websites and some other private groups in Denmark. Jobseeker observations: For most job offers, you are redirected to the company to apply. When you fill out your candidate profile, you can tick boxes regarding your previous experience in Denmark, about only looking for work for a limited amount of time, your driver’s license, etc. The form is long and tedious. If you don't use your account for 90 days, the site deletes it. The job offers: 1410 job offers. Some job offers are months old. The most popular fields are IT, management, research and engineering. According to the website, IT, life science, medical & health services and engineering are constantly looking for specialists. Reactivity: If you use the chat support, you are redirected to Europa.eu. It took the website about a day to answer our e-mail (very helpful). Special features: The WorkinDenmark Job fairs; E-learning courses; the true stories from expats who now work in Denmark; information on moving, living and working in Denmark; the partner websites (like star.dk). Verdict: WorkinDenmark is a surprisingly useful website. The visibility is low, but in its own way, it’s a niche job board. If you are moving to Denmark and don’t know where to start researching your new country, start with WorkinDenmark.
